Dr. Nadya Clarke: Breaking Barriers in Plastic Surgery

Dr. Nadya Clarke

Dr. Nadya Clarke isn’t just a surgeon—she’s a force. At 5’3”, she stands tall in a field where fewer than 2% of plastic surgeons are Black women, redefining representation in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.

A proud daughter of Jamaican immigrants, Dr. Clarke was raised in Potomac, Maryland, where she excelled both academically and athletically. She earned a full scholarship to Vanderbilt University, majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience with a Minor in Women’s Studies, before continuing her medical journey at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Her path to becoming a premier plastic surgeon included an intensive five-year General Surgery Residency at NYU Medical Center, followed by two years of Pediatric Craniofacial Plastic Surgery Research at the world-renowned Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania. She rounded out her decade-long surgical training with a Plastic Surgery Fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center and specialized Aesthetic Surgery Training at The Few Institute in Chicago.

Today, Dr. Clarke is the founder of Bespoke Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in Bethesda, Maryland, where she merges science, artistry, and compassion to help her patients feel confident and empowered. She is known not just for her exceptional surgical skills but for the deep, personal connections she fosters with her patients, ensuring they are fully educated and supported throughout their journey.

Beyond the operating room, Dr. Clarke is an avid traveler, having explored over 37 countries, a dedicated mother, and a lover of photography, reading, and spinning. Proof that petite women stand powerfully in every space they enter, she embodies resilience, excellence, and the power of representation in medicine—an inspiration for petite women and beyond.

My Take:

The Power of Her Story

Celebrating Women's HERstory Month My Take

HERstory is my story. It’s our story. And what I love most? We’re still writing it.

Women have shaped societies, built movements, and led revolutions—often without recognition, often while being told we couldn’t. Yet, here we are, continuing to break barriers, redefine industries, and carve out spaces where none existed before.

We are the storytellers, the innovators, the nurturers, and the disruptors. We don’t just lead; we transform. From the women who fought for our rights to those pushing boundaries in boardrooms, laboratories, and creative spaces today, we have always been architects of change.

At Ever Petite, we’re doing more than just celebrating these stories—we’re amplifying them. We’re making sure that the world sees the brilliance, strength, and impact of petite women across every industry. And this? This is just the start.

Each woman we feature carries her own incredible journey, adding new chapters to the collective story of resilience and excellence. And as for me? I’ll keep creating, keep pushing, keep amplifying. Because that’s what women do. We rise, we lead, and we make history—again and again.
